Farewell. 2007 is over... and the Jamboree Unit officially closes.
We've come to the end of the year, and as 2007 rolls into 2008, we have to say good-bye and thank you to everyone who has contributed to making the World Scout Jamboree such a success.
As the Berkshire Scouts Jamboree Units officially close on 31 December, all we can say is, on behalf of the County team, The Jamboree Unit leaders, supporters, parents, and of course the participants, well done to everyone who has made the last few years such fun.
This website will be maintained as an archive for the foreseeable future; there are now no planned updates to the site. Unit members will receive a letter by post during January and hopefully later in the year, a Unit DVD.
In the meantime, hope to see some of you at the Three Towers Hike in April, some of you in the Alps in August, and all of you at WINGS in 2009. Until next time, farewell and godspeed.
You can still visit Berkshire Scouts Jamboree's Archived Web Site...
here.
and the Unit has a few pages on its BSJU Reunited site.
In 2007, the 21st World Scout World Scout Jamboree came home to the United Kingdom for the first time in 50 years. Coinciding with Scouting's Centenary, it was held in Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex, from 27 July to 8 August 2007 and was the most fantastic and biggest celebration and festival of Scouting ever! Under the slogan "One World, One Promise" some 40,000 young people from 216 countries across the world enjoyed international friendship and peace coupled with a fantastic programme of activities. Berkshire was represented at the World Scout Jamboree by two Units of young men and women drawn from across Berkshire. Follow their adventures here on this website.
