What is Ho Ho?

Home Hospitality (Ho Ho) is an exciting opportunity for Scouts attending the Jamboree to also experience local culture and Scouting - for 3-4 days either just before or just after the Jamboree itself.

hoho Ho Ho is also an exciting opportunity for local Scout families in Berkshire to be a part of the Jamboree experience by hosting visiting Scouts for a few days.  Watch this space for details on how to get involved.

Why Ho Ho?

For a few days, Scouts from other countries stay with the families or communities of local Scouts, and gain an insight into the way of life in another country that no ordinary tourist would enjoy.

Many previous Jamboree Scouts have said afterwards that the HoHo experience was perhaps the most memorable part of their trip , resulting in lasting friendships with their host family and sometimes follow-on exchange visits.

What happens on Ho Ho?

Each host Scout family decides what to show to their guest Scouts - typically this would include local tourist attractions plus the experience of typical daily life.

In addition, it is common for Jamboree Units and all their host families to get together for community activities during the Ho Ho period.

How do I become a Host ?

Initially you will need to make contact with Berkshire Scouts Jamboree HoHo Cordinator, Mrs Annick Tremblay. To make an initial contact, please complete the form below or you may contact her by email here. Simply making an enquiry DOES NOT commit you to being a host.
