IST - International Service Team
The International Service Team or IST are the team of adults from all over the world that are key to the successful running of the Jamboree. The IST will be responsible for building the Jamboree village, ensuring that the on-site services are running smoothly, running activities and entertainments, and pretty much making sure the whole Jamboree runs smoothly!
Without the hard work and dedication of (it is estimated) up to 8,000 IST members, the Jamboree would not function. The IST have to work hard, but the reward is second-to-none. Being part of the centenary Jamboree and supporting participants from over 200 countries is something not to be missed.
They are the key conduit between the core team of organisers and the participants that are responsible for actually making the Jamboree come to life! There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of different jobs available for IST. A small selection includes: climbing instructors, sales assistants, telephone operators, plumbers, backstage crew, performers, nurses, cleaners, water activity instructors, catering staff - the list is endless. There are jobs that suit every level of experience and expertise in nearly every field imaginable!
EIST = a combination of French "L'Équipe Internationale de Service (EIS)" and English "International Service Team (IST)"
