Berkshire County Scout Council (Registered Charity No. 1015269) takes the issue of privacy very seriously and we are committed to protecting and respecting our members’ and users' privacy. This Privacy Statement sets out our current practices and should be read in conjunction with our Terms & Conditions. This privacy policy covers the websites controlled by Berkshire County Scout Council:

Material for these websites is selected and only loaded on to the site where it conforms with the Child Protection Policy  and the Website Guidelines of the Scout Association.

You can browse our site(s) without disclosing any personal data to us.

A limited number of cookies are used on www.berkshirescoutsjamboree.org.uk to maintain sessions within the Flagpole forum and also to prevent duplicate content appearing. No other cookies are used. We DO NOT use cookies to collect personal data or track usage.

During such browsing we do not automatically log personal data nor do we link information automatically logged by other means with personal data about specific individuals.

Our websites contains links to third party websites operating their own terms and conditions and privacy policies. Berkshire Scouts is not responsible for the policies of any linked third party sites.

You can choose to use services via our websites which require you to provide personal information. We will only use such information in connection with Scouting. We will not share that information with third parties unless it is clearly required to provide the service requested or if the third parties are empowered by regulation, statute or order of a court.

For services which require your email address, we will provide you with the opportunity to receive weekly news and details of opportunities and support for both young people and adults in Berkshire. You will always have the option of discontinuing your subscription to such services.

Any such personal data is maintained in line with the Data Protection Act and guidelines issued by The Scout Association

We have security measures in place to protect our users’ database. Access to this database is restricted internally. However, it remains each user’s responsibility to keep their password secret, to protect against unauthorised access to your personal details, and to ensure against use by anyone else of the www.berkshirescouts.org.uk or any related service through the machine that users use while they are "logged on" to any Berkshire Scouts services

If you are currently receiving information from us and would prefer not to, please email webmaster@berkshirescouts.org.uk with "No further mailings" in the subject box. Please provide your email address to which you require no further mailings or follow the unsubscribe instructions placed at the bottom of all our emails to you.

Please use this email address if you wish to request from us a copy of the personal data we hold about you. Please note that under English law we are entitled to charge you a fee for providing this service.

We will provide you with a readable copy of any personal data that we may hold about you, within thirty days of receipt of your request. We will require proof of your identity before releasing any data.

In instances where you find information that we hold about you to be inaccurate we will correct or delete it promptly.
