Friends of the Unit
The Friends of the Unit scheme rewards companies and individuals who make generous contributions to the Jamboree Unit fundraising and individual fundraising. The Friends programme permits businesses to be part of the Jamboree experience. More...

The dates for the next 3 camping weekends are published. Each season of the year will see a Unit camp.

The Unit's Kick-Off sees the 8 patrols and 2 units formed. Each patrol has been set a patrol fundraising target of £500 each.

Four members of the Berkshire Scouts Jamboree Unit had the opportunity to attend the World Scout Jamboree organisers' Ceremonies Workshop held recently at Youlbury. During the day the 4 individuals were able to give a young person's view on what they would like to see at the Opening Ceremony, at the Closing Ceremony and at the Scouting Sunrise Ceremony (on 1 August 2007).
The Opening Ceremony is one of the most memorable parts of any Jamboree; it is the first time that all 40,000 Scouts will converge into one place and will be truly the point at which the experience of a lifetime will begin. The Berkshire representatives contributed their thoughts and ideas on the ceremonies including discussions on whether a big firework display should be had, to the types of music to be played, how the flags of the world should be presented and what unit members wanted to see.

Five of the leader team (Bruce, Pete, Wendy, Andy & Laura) attended the National Leaders' Weekend at Walesby Forest. During the weekend the team met many of the UK Contingent leader team and other Unit leaders. The weekend was an opportunity to look at some of the equipment, programme and resources available to support the Units. More...
